I made a desk!! This is my first time ever building anything so I was really worried about the outcome, but I'll just say for the price of this I'm surprised by how firm and sturdy it is. I'm using it now and I've knocked against it, leaned on it, tried to sway it with my leg and it doesn't budge at all. I'm sure if you tried moving and sliding this against the floor it would give somewhat though, so definitely set it up in the space you're planning to keep it and don't mess with it too much. As far as construction goes, this was very easy to set up the only hard part was when I needed someone to hold up parts but I decided foolishly to do this alone. Even still, I was able to do it but maybe tripled my time by doing that. The instructions were also easy to follow and for me personally, I think shouldn't be too difficult for anyone. Just read the directions carefully and before you start, identify what each piece is using the diagram. The hardest part was the keyboard panel so make sure you're reading thoroughly. I also tapped the parts with the wooden dowels with a hammer to really push them into each board, not sure if you should do that though (it isn't in the directions iirc) but I think it helped. There's enough space underneath for me to stretch out my legs (I'm 5'8) and I like the set up of the elevated shelf. I set my laptop up there, and put a drawing tablet inside the keyboard drawer. I've used the bin for cords and the storage on the right for some books and stuff. The little nook under the shelf is a nice spot for my mouse too! As far as looks go, none of the wood was stained or chipped anywhere and so far there are no rough edges. So far I've had no problems with this desk and for the price I'm very happy with it, even if it breaks down in 6 months for me it'd be worth it since I really needed a desk but didn't have a disposable $500 to afford a great one. At the moment, this is a great option.UPDATE: Still have the desk! Still firm and sturdy lol some of the paint has come off but that's normal wear and tear in 2 years. I've also moved it a few times from it's original place and nothing bad happened. Really recommend!UPDATE #2: It’s 2023~ Still have the desk! Still going strong!
